thanks so much for your names, suggestions and inspirations.. After careful and not so careful looking through the names, saying them outloud, looking at them as letterhead, and just plain old instinct..Here are the finalists..The folks at the new unamed company, who particpated in this, look forward to no longer being un-named, and we welcome your thoughts, analysis and reasons for adovcating or not any of the finalists..
Rage on....
1. Brave New Films (John L)
2. Grassroots Films (Jim Tomich)
3. Outfox Media (George Lakoff)
4. Progressivision (Sarah Feeley)
5. Truth2Power Productions (Dadler)
6. Uncompromised Films (Earl Katz)
7. WeThePeople Productions (Nessim Watson)

The name Grassroots Films is taken, you can see them at: www.grassrootsfilms.com
The name Grassroots Films has already been in use.
Brave New Films is my favorite. Sounds very proffessional and not cliche.
#3
I like WeThePeople Productions.

My top three choices, in order, are as follows:
1. WeThePeople Productions
2. Truth2Power Productions
3 . Progressivision
Chris Bradley
Brave New Films- it's strong, unlimiting in terms of future subject matter, good literary allusion.....
The first one that struck me was Uncompromised Films. And I have to agree with Nessim about the Fox reference in the title, Lakoff notwithstanding I think you may be limiting yourself by using it.
At Replay Radio, where we are PSYCHED about the new media revolution, we like #3.
There's nothing wrong with using your biggest hit to springboard future films. Plus, its keep hammering home the point of Outfoxed when people see your production company in the credits of future films.
In support of #7, #1, and #2.
I proposed #7 WeThePeople Productions, and so am biased toward that name. I'm also honored to be on a list of name suggestions with noted linguist George Lakoff (assuming that is he).
But I'm concerned that most of the names in the final 7 either locate the company politically or center it around its critical opposition to FoxNews. These are limiting entailments for a company that seeks to grow populist support.
For Lakoff's idea #3: The company will grow, and should not always be thought of as "the company that did Outfoxed in the 2004 election". (Would CBS bank on the success of Green Acres or Survivor so much as to put it in the company name for all of time?)
For ideas #4,5,6: Given that 50% of voters from 2004 would view Outfoxed as enemy politics, that's not a great attribute for the company name going forward. For the same reason that FoxNews is clever to use "Fair & Balanced" rather than the more honest "partisan conservative mouthpiece"... the new company must make a populist appeal that invites and addresses more than 50% of Americans.
My idea (#7) makes that populist appeal while trying to reclaim and redefine the parameters of patriotism, an important mission not to be left to right wingers anymore. Ideas #2 (and #1) do this as well and would be my next best choices from the list.
That's my argument for all to consider and respond to if you feel so inclined. Whatever name is eventually selected, I would love to hear the reasoning behind the choice!
Thanks for the opportunity to mutually construct our world going forward.

Yipeee! I'm number one! Calm down there, puppy. OK, so what happened to my:
Fox & Henhouse Productions, etc.? I know, anything "Brave New...", in bold TimesNewRoman type or the like, just gets 'em right in the cerebellum.
New ones:
Fox In The Bush Productions
NotFox News & Documentum, Inc.
NotFoxworthy Films

Dear Robert: I am a south portland democrat and am running a 12 month documentary series that includes the wonderful films you have produced. I am wondering if there is any possibility of getting permission from you to run these movies on public access. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks.
