Quantcast
Stephen rocks!

psssts

I just got back from the taping, and I'm happy to report that the over 1,100 suggestions, advice and comments from folks all over the world allowed me to survive "The Colbert Report" with my dignity nearly intact. He is as smart, funny and quick in person as he is on the air. DUH. And his staff had been reading the blog posts and were impressed with how closely folks were watching the show.

Having been brought up in a family of teasers, as my niece said, "your whole life has been preparation for this show." My son’s critique… "you did a good job, can’t expect it to be perfect with a guy like Colbert." For a 13-year-old I take that as high praise….

But you all decide.

Shortly before going on air, Tom DeLay sent out a fundraising letter using the next Brave New Films' release, THE BIG BUY as a way to scare up some money from his supporters. The interview ended up being all about DeLay...more on that soon.

Those technically and creatively inclined, please edit your own versions of the show, improving, changing, putting other characters in responding to Stephen’s questions to me. Jim promises he will link the video up here as soon as he can after it airs on the west coast.

So thanks again, it has been a blast, and Colberites beware, the Brave New Films team has taken the field...

too late, but i was going to suggest you catch the d. gergen interview with mr. T. (truthiness) . he caught the host off base twice: first by being avuncular "how old are you?" and next by explaining there had been a time to be conservative, but now was a time to shift left!. He did good. Maybe next time. Just watched Iraq for sale and thank you its super.

Why do you hate my show so much. My show is awesome, and i have more fans than you. I save america, and you dont.

Robert,

Great job! I can't believe Colbert is nice in person. He's such a schwantz on stage! I know he was quite intimidating, but you supplied great information!

I have to tell you as Colbert walked to the table to interview you, I was yelling at the TV (at Colbert), "You be nice to him or I'll kill you myself!!" ;-)

Amy
p.s. I gave out 10 of your Wal-Mart DVD's as Christmas presents and to co-workers, including my boss. Keep up the great work.

Watched you on Colbert and you did fine. Yes, I believe you disarmed Colbert when I noticed him looking for words to respond.
I love Stehen Colbert and the way he reports the news. I would not miss his show for the world. I wish his show was on for 1 hour since it is over so fast. Good luck to you on your fine movies.

I think you did wonderfully. He's a bit of a cad and you certainly got your word in despite his gregarity. I was introduced to you on this show and I will definitely follow up on your films. Thanks for your voice.

Just wanted to say I watched the show -- and you done good.

I have to pity anyone who accepts an invitation to be Colbert's guest -- and applaud their courage -- but you did manage to seize a few moments and make a few points ... noble effort. Thanks for all the great work you do!

.mr. greenwald, i have hosted screenings of your films, faithfully, and will do so with "the big buy," as well. i just love you, and the work you do, and i think you did very well with stevie-boy! one must never lose sight of his methodology: devil's advocate, in order to illuminate the ludicrousness of what is going on in this country. he's really on your side, ya know? bravo. i have seen others nearly cry from frustration: former FEMA director Michael Brown looked twice like he was lost, and under attack. clearly, he forgot that the interview is meant to be silly.

by the way, i used to live in delay's original district, and moved (very) far south, nearly all the way to Galveston (Clear Lake/Webster). he followed me. his district now covers so much of houston as to be laughable--if it was not so scary. during the redistricting debacle, i kept wondering if anyone was paying attention, and might come an intervene. no one did. your film will elucidate the massively treasonous nature of texas politics. thank you.

I'm glad you were able to get some air time to help get the message out and you did a fine job staying focused despite Stephen's knack for attempting to disarm his guests. Stephen plays the devils advocate to what is primarily the established Daily Show fanbase who should all support your efforts by purchasing your films and screening them to all thier uptight friends. Keep up the good work. -Mike R (a concerned non-partisan Texan)

I was privileged to be at the Colbert taping...even got the self- important prod. asst. to change our seats so we could watch the interview portion close up and personal. My charming, funny, and very bright brother-in-law (that would be Robert, folks!) totally did the Greenwald clan proud. That's nothing new, of course...but to go mano a mano with my personal idol Steven Colbert.... wow!!!!! It was a banner evening and a banner performance. I just got a message from Harold Greenwald's ashes..." That was pretty good son; only your father could have done any better..." And I might have heard Ruth's gravelly voice telling everyone that she feels even prouder than Steven Spielberg's mother. Without delay, on to De Lay!!!! Many thanks, bro, for the tix... your crazy sis, Wendy

You were great on Colbert! We need to repeat the message in the media that DeLay and many of his peers are crooks hiding behind a guise of "core, conservative beliefs" as DeLay wrote in his anti-Greenwald fundraising pitch. Let's repeat it with the same persistence and focus that they have used to slander all critics.

Let's hope that the feigned Republican outrage to your filim only brings it more publicity and more Republican viewers. Thank you for the important and effective work that you do.

Mr. Greenwald,

I just finished watching the Colbert Report and I must say you disarmed Steven Colbert beautifully. I believe you made Mr. Colbert work hard for his words. Even the audience applauded you in agreement to stop the Republican crooks from spreading throughout our nation.
So, I commend you on your valor !
Thank you, Sir, for your films .
